IDGC- Miss O.

Contestant 6

Miss O. – Student

Age: 22

When i was a teenager(17) i was constantly abused sexually by a close family friend who was then my boss. I was under him for 2years plus and I couldn’t speak to anyone because this was the same time I felt unloved by my family members. It felt like I was all alone. I gained admission and went back tk school with the hope that this was going to stop, I woke up one day to see this man in my school. I decided to speak to a few persons, I quitted my job then and cut ties with him.

This affected me alot, my academics, my finances and my mental health. I knew what I passed through then as a young girl trying to balance her spiruatual, mental life and academics. Now that I know better, I’m now an SGBV Advocate, I created an initiative solely to be a safe space for girls like me who can’t speak for their selves in situations like mine. Educate girls about sexual and gender based violence to reduce stories like mine and to make the world a better place. Through my initiative, I have reached over 400 girls this year and still going to do more. I am still healing and I am healing well and happy doing what I am doing.
