On March 8, the world unites to honor International Women’s Day (IWD), a global celebration of women’s accomplishments and a reaffirmation of our commitment to gender equality.
This year, Women Impacting Nigeria (WIN) marked the occasion with a powerful women’s empowerment and health seminar at Tangerine Africa. The event, attended by 125 inspiring women, was a testament to our collective dedication to advancing women’s rights and well-being.
Tangerine Africa, renowned for its mission to enhance financial security across the continent through top-notch insurance and pension solutions, graciously hosted this impactful session.
The seminar focused on crucial aspects of women’s health, specifically cervical cancer and human papillomavirus (HPV). Key topics included the risk factors for cervical cancer—such as repeated HPV infections, the use of oral contraceptives, diabetes, a compromised immune system, and unprotected sex—as well as preventive measures and the importance of HPV vaccination.
At Women Impacting Nigeria, we are committed to improving life outcomes for women and girls across Nigeria. We recognize that women’s health is intrinsically linked to their productivity and overall well-being. Therefore, we strive to provide women with the knowledge and resources needed to access affordable and effective healthcare.
Our mission is to empower women with the tools and information necessary for maintaining their health, thereby supporting their full potential and contributing to a more equitable society.
