Women Impacting Nigeria (WIN), through the WIN Academy, in partnership with Raba Technologies, successfully hosted a two-day Women Empowerment and Business Masterclass on 28th and 29th November 2025. The training was designed to equip women with the clarity, digital competence, and foundational business skills required to build sustainable and future-ready enterprises.
The masterclass brought together women entrepreneurs, aspiring business owners, and professionals seeking to strengthen their business knowledge and digital capacity. Participants engaged in sessions focused on mindset development, business structure, branding, customer acquisition, digital visibility, and financial inclusion through technology.
Participation and Engagement
The training recorded strong participation and engagement across the two days. Day 1 had 52 participants, while 41 participants attended Day 2.
Day 1: Business Mindset, Structure, and Digital Management
Day 1 commenced with a welcome and introduction, setting the context for the training and outlining the objectives of the masterclass. Sessions focused on developing the right mindset for entrepreneurship, understanding business structure, and managing customers through digital platforms.
Key lessons from the day emphasized that businesses exist to solve problems and that customers pay for solutions, not just products. Participants were encouraged to identify everyday challenges and unmet needs as opportunities for viable businesses. Defining target customers and clearly understanding who a business serves were highlighted as critical foundations for growth.
The session on digital visibility and branding reinforced the importance of professionalism and consistency. Participants learned the value of separating personal and business accounts, setting up Google My Business, engaging customers through product demonstrations and testimonials, and responding promptly to inquiries. The facilitators emphasized that consistency, storytelling, and customer experience are central to effective branding, alongside thoughtful use of colours and reinvestment strategies to support business sustainability.
Day 1 concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session that allowed participants to address real-life business challenges and deepen their understanding of the topics discussed.
Day 2: Customer Growth, Systems, Capital, and Raba Opportunities
Day 2 began with a recap of key lessons from the first day, helping participants reflect and build on previously shared insights. The focus then shifted to customer acquisition strategies, scaling businesses through systems, and accessing capital and digital tools to support expansion.
Participants explored how structured systems such as automation, scheduling tools, and digital processes can help businesses grow beyond manual operations. Sessions also addressed the importance of understanding customer behaviour and maintaining intentional visibility to attract and retain clients.
Raba Technologies facilitated a session on financial inclusion and economic opportunities, introducing participants to tools designed to support women-led businesses. These included Raba Voice Banking, which enables transactions through voice commands in local languages, access to Raba POS machines, and opportunities to engage as Raba Customer Service Representatives or Field Agents. Notably, 16 participants expressed interest in joining Raba’s customer support network when recruitment opens in January.
Day 2 concluded with a closing session that reaffirmed the shared commitment of WIN and Raba Technologies to advancing women’s economic empowerment through access to knowledge, technology, and opportunity.
