Gender equality remains a significant challenge in Nigeria’s technology sector. According to the Nigerian National Bureau of Statistics, the ratio of male to female workers in ICT is 4:1. Our Women in Technology initiative aims to bridge this gap by advancing women and girls in technology from the classroom to the boardroom. We envision a world where women are equally represented as technological leaders, executives, funders, board members, and software engineers.

Our Approach

At Women Impacting Nigeria (WIN), we offer educational and hands-on STEM programs that foster creativity, innovation, and a passion for STEM-related careers. Our mission is to inspire and equip girls to pursue and thrive in technology fields. By providing leadership development, technology education, and mentoring opportunities for women at all levels, WIN is dedicated to closing the gender gap in the tech sector.

Programs of Impact

Digital Skills for Her:

  • We have trained over 10,000 women across Nigeria in cities including Abuja, Akure, Jos, Kano, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Oyo, Uyo, and Calabar. This program equips women with essential digital skills to enhance their employability and entrepreneurial capabilities.

The Girl Code:

  • In collaboration with Urijijami and Chama Tech (Venezuela), we have empowered over 10,000 women with the technological tools, knowledge, and resources needed to develop coding skills. This initiative ensures women have the technical expertise to compete in the global tech market.

STEM Education Program:

  • This program encourages young women and girls to explore and get excited about careers in STEM. Over 2,000 females have benefited from this initiative, which aims to spark interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics from an early age.

Our Vision

We are committed to creating a future where women are at the forefront of technological innovation and leadership. By empowering women and girls with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities they need to succeed, we are not only closing the gender gap but also fostering a more inclusive and diverse tech industry.
