Women Impacting Nigeria (WIN) celebrated its dedicated volunteers with a special Volunteer Hangout and Recognition Ceremony at Freedom Park, Lagos Island, on Friday, December 22, 2023. The event was a heartfelt celebration of achievements, appreciation, and empowerment.
WIN’s volunteers, a dedicated group of women united by a shared vision for a gender-equitable Nigeria, serve in various capacities to advance our mission. The event featured a recognition session honoring their exceptional contributions across different roles.
An inspiring pep talk was delivered to encourage everyone to remain steadfast as ambassadors for themselves, the organization, and the nation.
Attendees enjoyed a range of engaging games and activities, including riddles, the fun “Flip the Bottle” game, and a lively charades session, adding a playful and festive atmosphere to the gathering.
The highlight of the day was the recognition ceremony. Ruth Boyle, Gift Nweke, Rodiat Asake, Kafayat Owokoniran, and Glory Solomon were honored with certificates for their outstanding service. Kafayat Owokoniran was celebrated as Volunteer of the Year and received a well-deserved cash prize for her exceptional contributions.
The event was filled with joy, ample food, and drinks, and concluded with a discussion about plans for the coming year. Volunteers renewed their commitment to WIN and to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
