Every day, hundreds of women die during pregnancy or from childbirth-related complications. Alarmingly, Nigeria accounts for 20% of all global maternal deaths (WHO). This high mortality rate reflects inequities in access to health services, compounded by social and cultural barriers to antenatal care and contraceptive use.

The Nigerian girl child faces a wide range of abuses and harmful traditional practices that severely impact her health. Each day, preventable diseases such as measles and malaria claim the lives of 300,000 children. Nigeria also leads the world in malaria cases, with 100 million cases reported annually, and around three million Nigerians living with HIV. Additionally, 40% of females in Nigeria miss several days of school each month due to menstrual-related challenges.

At Women Impacting Nigeria (WIN), we are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of women and children through prevention, treatment, education, immunization campaigns, and sexual and reproductive health care.
