What is Fibroids? How Do I know I have It?

Fibroids: What you need to know!

Day by day, cases of the fibroid are becoming more frequent amongst women of childbearing age. Fibroids are simply noncancerous growths in the womb. These growths can be single or multiple, small or big masses. 

To know if you have fibroids, Women Impacting Nigeria has put together a Fibroid check list you may need to look out for:

• Heavy menstrual bleeding

• Prolonged menstrual periods lasting more than a week

• Pressure or discomfort in the Pelvic Frequent urination and Difficulty emptying the bladder

• Backache or pains

• Pain or discomfort during intercourse

On rare occasions, a fibroid can cause acute pain when it outgrows its blood supply and begins to die.
