Anemia is a public health problem that affects everyone worldwide. Anemia is described as a condition wherein the body is unable to produce enough red blood cells. During pregnancy, Iron deficiency is likely to increase the risk of maternal infections and low hemoglobin which can result in low-grade chronic hypoxia that induces maternal and fetal stress. This can initiate labor and eventually result in premature birth or low birth weight.
