Domestic Violence, Rape and Abuse Support

UNICEF reported that one in four girls and one in ten boys in Nigeria would have experienced sexual violence before the age of 18. Also, six out of ten children in Nigeria will experience emotional, physical or sexual abuse before the age of 18, with half experiencing physical violence. Women Impacting Nigeria has embarked on a campaign to raise awareness for violence against women in Nigeria.  This campaign will involve a series of self -defense workshops and classes around the country.

Self-defence workshops – We provide women with a variety of strategies and skills to deal with violent situations

We support survivors of Rape and Sexual Violence by offering access to shelters, medical and legal aid and counselling to ensure the physical and mental recuperation of victims.  We visit and cater to victims of abuse through encouragement, counselling, provision of basic needs.

Gender based violence education and awareness – We promote the education of men and boys by teaching them positive masculinity and how to stand up for women and girls. We create awareness about the plight of abused victims and encourage increased community support. o GSS Capital School, Demfawo  Government Secondary School, Kofare
